UOIT earns outstanding marks in North American survey of university students
UOIT students have ranked their university ahead of its peer groups in a comprehensive North American survey of students at 769 post-secondary institutions, pointing in particular to its state-of-the-art technology, academically challenging programs and collaborations with expert faculty.
Faculty of Business and IT hosts first ever alumni reception
On Wednesday January 28, FBIT alumni braved a winter storm for the first ever alumni reception at Shagwell's on the Ridge. Alumni had a chance to reconnect with each other and the faculty in attendance. Pamela Ritchie, Dean Faculty of Business and IT welcomed alumni back and encouraged them to stay connected to UOIT. After the reception, alumni were treated to watching the UOIT Ridgebacks Men's Hockey Team defeat Ryerson University 8-7. Clickhere to see photos from this event.

Canadian hockey great named UOIT Ridgebacks women's hockey head coach
University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) Athletic Director Ken Babcock announced on Monday that Karen Nystrom has been named the new head coach of the Ridgebacks women's hockey program. Founding head coach Gary Pitcher stepped down following the conclusion of the 2008-09 OUA regular season, passing the torch to his assistant coach and national team hero. UOIT rower honoured at OUA Women of Influence Luncheon
UOIT Ridgebacks women's rower and Oshawa resident, Jessica Bosse, was recognized at the OUA's sixth annual Women of Influence Luncheon at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. For the last six years, the OUA recognized the top female scholar-athletes from across the province who have excelled in their chosen sports and fields of study. At this year's event, two-time Olympic medalist Tonya Verbeek was the keynote speaker.
