Thesis Binding and Electronic Publishing
Graduate Theses - UOIT Library Collection --Print Volumes and Electronic Copies
A print and electronic copy of every student thesis is forwarded to the Library by the Office of Graduate Studies for its archival collection and for electronic publication. The print copy does not circulate; however, the electronic copy is posted on the library's institutional repository providing open access to the full-text of all UOIT theses through E-scholar. In addition to this, the Library submits the electronic file for processing to ProQuest, allowing the theses to become available online on AMICUS via the Library and Archives Canada's Thesis Canada program. ProQuest's four year time delay in sending theses to Library and Archives Canada has now been dropped.

Electronic publishing for non-thesis (Master's Projects)
The Library does not acquire master's projects for its print archive collection. If students wish to submit an electronic copy of their project for inclusion in the Library's institutional repository E-scholar (this is voluntary) they can submit a CD to their program office. The program office then submits the CD directly to the attention of: Kathryn Hanson, Special Projects Officer, LIB 220E, North Oshawa Library 905.721.8668 x. 2399.
The CD must have three files, each in a PDF format:
- The project or paper
- The completed form Certificate of Approval - Master's Project or Major Paper
- The form Submission of Thesis/Dissertation/Project/Major Paper. This form must contain an abstract of the project/paper (no more than 100 words) and 5 key words which can be used by researchers to search for the document.
