The Library provides access to 88,000 books, 47,000 e-books and 46,000 full text electronic journals (indexing and abstracting for 75,000).

Subject Guides are Librarian prepared documents highlighting topic specific resources. They can be found under Resources on the library website.
Accessing E-Resources
You can access the library's catalogue and electronic resources from anywhere. To access electronic resources you will be prompted to enter your student ID number and network password.
If you do not know your student ID number (banner number) or network password, email or call IT Services at 905.721.8668 ext. 3333.
Researching a Topic
For help researching a topic go to the Research Help tab and select Research a Topic from the dropdown menu.

Finding Materials
How do I find books, media & articles at the library?
Find Books and E-Books by searching the library catalogue, either from the Library website or under Direct Access.
Find Articles by subject through the Subject Guides under the Articles & Databases tab or under Direct Access.
Find DVDs, Videos and CDs by searching the library catalogue. Media items are located in Media Services in the Willey Building (A165), not in the library. Booking is also done through Media Services (905.721.8668 Ext. 3333 option 2). Streaming video collections are also available.
Refworks: Bibliographic and Citation Management
RefWorks is a web-based citation manager provided to you by the Library at UOIT. If you are new to RefWorks and do not have a login or password, click on "Sign up for a New Account".

- Web of Science - A multi-disciplinary database including social sciences, arts and humanities, and science coverage

- Data Liberation Initiative (DLI) - Survey data from Statistics Canada
- Proquest Dissertations and Theses (PQDT) - From a variety of disciplines. Full text from 1997 to present; Citations only 1861 - 1996
- Theses Canada Portal - Electronic versions from 1998 forward. Older paper copies available through Interlibrary Loan (RACER)
