Alternate format course material
Students who have been approved to access alternate format course material as part of their accommodations will need to follow the steps listed below. Alternate format course material includes but is not limited to accessing books in electronic format to allow for the use of reading software.Steps for obtaining textbooks in alternate/accessible format:
- Complete your course selection as early as possible.
- Use MyCampus to find your booklist (instructions for this are available below). This can also be done using your course list or time table to check the Campus Bookstore web site for your booklist. You may need to check several times to obtain all of your textbook titles.
- Print two copies of your booklist, including the publisher and ISBN number. Submit one to the front desk at the Centre for Students with Disabilities (SW116) and keep a copy for yourself.
- We ask that students make every effort to have a complete booklist submitted to the CSD at least 4 weeks prior to the start of each term. If your instructors have not yet posted all of their books, please submit the information for the remaining books as it becomes available.
- Requests can take significant time to complete. For most requests, we can order alternate format material from the publisher. If the book is from a smaller publisher, the student can have their books cut and scanned by staff at the Centre for Students with Disabilities. This allows us to fulfill many requests within a week.
