Anjum Siddiqui
Dr. Siddiqui has an extensive background in academia and industry. He was previously tenured at the University of Auckland, where he was also engaged in contractual research for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Most recently, he served as the Chief Economist and Head of Strategic Planning at the National Bank of Pakistan where he was lead person on the $300 million "Banking Sector Reform Program" financed by the World Bank.
Dr. Siddiqui's academic and business leadership experience has resulted in a number of refereed journal articles in reputable international journals. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of Ottawa and a PhD in Economics from Simon Fraser University.
On his return to Canada, and prior to joining UOIT, Dr. Siddiqui taught at the University of Toronto, the School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University and in the International MBA Program at the Shulich School of Business, York University. Dr. Siddiqui's fields are macro and monetary economics, international trade and development economics. He has also taught finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
