Paul Wayne

Paul Wayne was an award-winning teacher at York University's Schulich School of Business from 1989 to 2003. Dr. Wayne's objectives are to encourage students to think critically and to integrate the theoretical and practical aspects of accounting and auditing. At York University, he was awarded the Educator of the Year Award for undergraduates in 1996 and a Seymour Schulich Award for Teaching Excellence in 2003. While at York University, Dr. Wayne also supervised graduate students in the Cap-stone course in the policy and strategy area.

Dr. Wayne's research interests include Corporate Governance as it pertains to audit committee effectiveness. He is also interested in Managerial Accounting, in particular its aspects in terms of control and motivation.

Dr. Wayne completed his PhD in 2003 and has had several papers presented at academic conferences in 1998 and 2003, as well as a joint publication in 2003 Dr. Wayne has a Bachelors degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a MBA and PhD from York University's Schulich School of Business. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984.
