Clemens Martin
Before joining the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Dr. Martin was partner and managing director of an information technology consulting company and Internet service provider based in Neuss, Germany. He was responsible for various security and consulting projects including the implementation of Java-based health care cards for Taiwanese citizens.
From September 2001 until March 2002, Dr. Martin held a position as an assistant professor in the Department of Information Technology at the Technical University of British Columbia in Surrey, B.C. He has also worked as an assistant researcher at TU Munich.
Dr. Martin's research involves supply chain management, business-to-business processes, process reengineering, and simulation. In the area of information technology he is interested in server-based software components, application of Internet technology, and autonomous systems. From September 1996 until November 1998, Dr. Martin was employed at Joh. Vaillant GmbH and Co., one of the leading European heating appliances manufacturers, where he was responsible for the IT operations and managed several projects to introduce new information systems in Vaillant's industrial environment.
