Study Abroad

Study Abroad

The University is working to develop exchange partnerships with universities around the world to offer a unique international academic experience to complement studies at UOIT. Moreover, studying or working abroad offers students experiential learning in cross-cultural communications, the opportunity to build a global network and the possibility to create future international career opportunities.

An exchange term or terms abroad offers students an extraordinary educational experience and opens the door for more career options and international networking opportunities while increasing cultural awareness.

The exchange terms and the number of students that can attend a partner school varies with each institution. Carefully review the web pages for exchange information.

As an exchange student studying abroad, you will continue to pay tuition to UOIT and remain eligible to apply for bursaries, scholarships and any other financial assistance that you normally would qualify for if you were studying at UOIT.

Other opportunities for international experiences include:

  • field schools with the Faculties of Education and Social Science and Humanities;
  • independent study abroad with credit transfer through a Letter of Permission; and
  • international internships/placements.
