Sending Students to University of Ontario Institute of Technology
Application: Once you have made your final decision as to which of your students will be coming to University of Ontario Institute of Technology, please direct them to fill out UOIT's Incoming Exchange Student Application Form. The form should be sent to the Assistant Registrar, International by mail, accompanied by a transcript. We cannot overstate the importance of students supplying a reliable and up-to-date email address on this form.
Deadlines: Please note the following deadlines for incoming student applications:
Fall and Winter Terms (September through April) - March 30
Offer of Acceptance: Since UOIT has received the above documentation, an Offer of Acceptance will be produced by the university and sent to your office. Please keep a copy of this document and distribute the original to the student, who may require it to get a visa or to enter Canada. Students whose materials are received by our deadlines can expect to receive their Offer of Acceptance well in advance of their departure date.
Pre-Arrival: Students selected for your exchange program with UOIT will also receive an email to aid in their course registration. This email will be sent in late June or early July.
Arrival in Toronto: UOIT International will also be in touch with your students via email before their arrival to invite them to an Orientation session and to answer any pre-arrival questions or concerns they may have. These sessions are held each term on the Friday morning preceding the first official day of classes. Students will be welcomed to the UOIT community and will be provided with a broad range of introductory information regarding study at the university and life in the Greater Toronto Area.
Post-Exchange: Once the exchange term is complete, the exchange co-ordinators at UOIT will arrange for official transcripts to be sent directly to our partner institutions. Students requiring an extra copy for their own records can request one from our Registrar's Office by mail.

Receiving University of Ontario Institute of Technology Students
Selection: UOIT sets a January application deadline for exchange in the upcoming academic year. Students are assessed for suitability by their home departments using a variety of methods, the common factor being a minimum grade point average of 3 (or B). Once the department has made its selections, your contact person will supply you with a list of the participating students.
Application: If you have an online application form, require specific information from students or have deadlines of which we should be aware, please be sure to inform the Assistant Registrar, International at UOIT.
Pre-Arrival: Due to the difference in term start dates from system to system, a large number of our students elect to spend time traveling in advance of beginning their studies overseas. For this reason we request that your institution supply an official Offer of Acceptance (or your equivalent document) as soon as they complete your application procedures. Any additional information that can be supplied to students in advance of their arrival (regarding accommodation, work, academics, social life, etc.) is always greatly appreciated.
Post-Exchange: UOIT students require an official transcript from your institution in order to receive academic credit for the work done there. We request that our partner institutions forward these documents directly to the Assistant Registrar, International, as soon as possible once the student has completed their course work.
