Academic Excellence

Increasing your grade point average
What every student needs to know
Retake courses in which you have earned an 'F' or 'D' grade.
When you retake a course only the highest grade earned will be used to calculate your GPA.
Reduce your courseload.
Students who reduce their courseload by even one course often see significant improvements in their other course grades.
Attend class regularly.
Class attendance is directly related to student success.
Improve study habits and skills.
Poor grades are not necessarily indicative of academic ability, but are often a sign of ineffective or poorly developed study habits/skills.
Seek help from your professor or teaching assistant.
It is imperative that you understand course content and expectations.
Meet regularly with your student advisor.
Your advisor can help you develop, modify and maintain a plan for academic success.
