Innovation Centre
The Innovation Centre is
responsible for offering professional development services to all faculty and
staff at UOIT. Working closely with each faculty, the centre ensures that
faculty members are provided with the greatest possible range of tools and facilities
to assist them in providing a rich learning experience for students.
The centre provides a comfortable
environment for professional development by using a variety of computer hardware
and software. Experts at the centre provide support in a wide range of areas
from curriculum development to multimedia creation and learning opportunities involving
conferences or guest speakers.
To foster a strong learning
community, the Innovation Centre maintains close connections with other
universities and organizations, and has formed partnerships with industry
leaders. The centre is currently working closely with the Canadian Association
of Distance Educators (CADE), Cooperative Learning Object Exchange (CLOE),
Multimedia Educational Resource and Online Teaching (MERLOT), EDUCAUSE and
more.
